apparently manufacturers of paraguay flags have had a lot of orders from the scots, because they want to support anyone but England. Isn't this just pathetic! If the scots were in the world cup and not the English, most of the English would want them to do well! But the Scots are just sore losers.

The Scottish invaded England, so we gave them what they deserved. Anyway, on the subject on Scotland, earlier this week, they debated in the Scottish parliament, whether or not Gorden Brown was Scottish. They want independence? With politicians like that? If they get it there's no hope for the country at all.

Oh, come on, lighten up, it's a game! Supporting anyone but your traditional rival country can be more playful than anything. For example, I'm Swiss, and there is no way you'll ever see me support Germany in anything--I'd get executed for treason :-). That doesn't mean that I really hate Germany. I really have nothing against them, it's a game between the big brother and the little brother, so to speak. This history stuff is way in the past, for the most part, though I must admit one of the saddest sights I've ever seen was the Union Jack on top of Edinburgh Castle...

Yes it's tragic but Edinburgh is far more anglo saxon than the west coast where we still fly the rebel Rampant Lion however,Edinburgh castle does commemorate the Scottish heroes, by placing impressive statues of freedom fighters William Wallace and Robert the Bruce at the front gates.
The Motto of scotland translates to Hit me and I'll hit you back! I Think that the bad blood between scotland and britain began long before them taking over the English soil wayne, and they paid badly for it...much more than they should have...and the way i heard some people talking about the scots while i was in london causes me to wonder weather or not that england would really want them to win if they were in the world cup.
The scottish had the heart of their tradition torn away from them for hundreds of years, and it was only just returned to them in 1996, i'm talking about a thing called the Stone Of destiny, a thing that the english have no right too! Yet the scots fight on...and they have their traditions yet. if i were them i would not let the stone go back to england for the next corrination, because i wouldn't want some britt stairing over the heart of my country like it's their god given right!

Ah, Alex, you neglect a small detail on the part of the stone, while it will sit in the crown room of Edinburgh castle for most of the time, part of the agreement of the scottish getting it back was that the stone would be returned for the next corrination. this is so the brits can keep their tradition, and, i guess, to hell with any scottish tradition they've killed along the way.
So, in a way, you're still paying for that invasion of centuries ago.

Insedentally i love the fact that the scots saved their crown jewels from cromwell when he melted the english ones.
A women hid them under her skirts, while she had to break the sword, so it would fit, she still mannaged to save them while the english ones boiled, so the scottish ones are older than those that reside in the tower of london!

Ahh but this stone has not been authenticated as no one knows where the real stone is. Your right the Scots lost so much in the years after the 1745 Jacobite revolt.Our language, our national dress, imagine being told the only clothes you have to hand are illegal! And speaking your native tongue, could have you executed for treason against a king, to whom you have no allegiance. Scotland Ireland and Wales, are owed more than the english could ever repay, and we are still paying today...I agree power to the convicts and rebels!
I think they owe a lot more than they'll admit, for the thousands of unjust hangings, for the slavery, for the genocide, and corruption!

Exactly. Longshanks alone owes us well over a million for executing William Wallace, you should read a thing called Whas like us ..who is like us it details the dependency england has on Scotland due to our inventions, such as penicillin and tarmac,not to mention the tv, on which they drool over their innumerable selves.
